Day 19: Orange alert!

Hmmmm... where to begin on my day.

Today was going to be very well organised, it was all planned, nothing could go wrong :)

up with the family, breakfast, get the blip done at 9, onto my essay at 9.15, submit essay by noon, edit the last 3 shoots by 4 (just some minor tweaking needed) then 4 till 5 - relax and kick back on the playstation for half hour, then settle down to researching the next essay :)

Reality of course, kicked in at 9.02. The flash wouldn't fire from my trigger system. Get the backup flash. The backup flash won't fire from the trigger system... Take the trigger apart, change the battery, nothing. Change the infra red probes, nothing, change the batteries in the flashes, nothing.

Scream, jump up and down, go a bit mad.... Plug SB900 into camera via sync chord. Nothing. hmmm. Plug Di622 into camera via sync chord - flash. Woohooo :D

plug Di622 into trigger system. Nothing. Plug it back into camera... Nothing. SB900... Flash! WTF?!!!

The light bulb, both metaphorically and literally, failed to come on over my head until about 5 minutes ago. Hold the sync lead, and bend it gently while triggering... Flash!

Grrrr.. a whole day to work out that a £3 chord has got an intermittent fault.

So instead of the splash extravaganza I was hoping to deliver, you have this - first thing the camera managed to fire at the same time as the flash. Enjoy :p
