irises and tulips

another lesson from Ithaca today, it is very exciting to learn how much the image can be personalised once you get off auto. I had never understood that and thought the art was entirely in the composition of a shot.
I like the way the iris leaves look so geometric compared to the softness of the tulips. The light was very low and I used a tripod but struggled to get exactly the angle I wanted.

I grew the iris reticulata in a little cup from a charity shop, with a pretty blue and white pattern. I'm pleased to have rescued it as it had no saucer or companions so I don't think it had many options for future use!
