The engineer

Yesterday we farewelled our son and his family as they left to return to Sydney. A much quieter start to the day. Still reading the morning paper when daughter C rang to ask if she and her two boys could stay the night with us.

Therefore, I got to have a late afternoon walk and play on the beach with the two lads. I confined myself to the long lens, which did mean that I was a short way off when taking pictures, and they played by themselves.

Here, Mr H is rapidly digging a trench around his castle of sand to capture the incoming water in an attempt to protect the castle from the tide. Although ultimately unsuccessful, the idea was a good one.
