Running Free

Early start this morning Linda and I joined our good friends John and Julia for a boys run and a girls run.
John is a great friend, we share a love of the outdoors, a shared approach to faith and together our familes have a had great times. He cycles more than runs, so we've not run together often but he and I (and Linda and Julia and half a dozen others) will be running Conniston 14 in March as part of my birthday celebrations. So what better way to catch up with each other than with a wee bit of a run.

It was blowy out there, we climbed from Ilkley along Addingham Moorside and up to Wingate Nick - which in the wind was pretty gritty climbing, once we gained the height it was free running up on the tops as the sun had just ascended above the horizon. John and I were nearly as happy as Summer the dog who joined us (and I'm sure thinks she took us out on a run).

The photo is taken just after we reached the path at the top of Wingate Nick, reaching here never ceases to fill me with a joy of being there, and being able to get there, and of the stunning splendour of the place. You can just see Summer who though grateful for our company is now wondering why we just didn't do it all again.

Canaster didn't happen last night the boys came on all over weary friday night teenagers, but did rally for a great couple of hours later of family games - we laughed a lot.

PS Just started using the blipfoto plug in for Lightroom - love it.
