Maritime Festival

Today is the start of our Maritime Festival. There are big celebrations on tomorrow for 'Stralia Day (Australia Day although some of our first peoples call it Invasion Day and say there is nothing to celebrate).

This is the James Craig. A metal hulled Barque. If you are interested in this ship, have a look at this link. It was moored on the wharf near work so I stopped to take a snap this morning. It was grey skies and fairly soon after they started to spit, then drizzle and now it is lashing rain. My plan was to take some shots of the fireworks tonight but it so miserable I am not going out again. I have had a play with this image using the preset filters on lightroom 3.

Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow otherwise, it is likely to be a drip photo.

Edit: The rain eased a bit so I did pop out and if you are interested, the cracker shots are here and the next one in the blip folio - not as good as Sydney but hey, what do you expect .
