Peak Bloom

On my way to lead a workshop in the mountrains I took a "short cut" that turned a 1.5 hour drive into a 4 hr drive in the backcountry (due to a road closure). But, it was a great drive and otherwise I wouldn't have come across this excellent field of arrowleaf balsamroot on one of the high mountain passes. I was needing to meet my workshop participants in Silver City, a "living museum" of an 1800s gold and silver mining town, but this was one of those instances you have to stop.
