In passing

The air is pregnant with stillness. In the wake of the terror caused by bomb blasts in some other parts of the country. But it has started to rain. A brief shadow of the monsoons, but rain nevertheless. In a country that depends upon agriculture as a major source of income, we are definitely at the mercy of the 'Rain Gods.'

There are police patrols in every street. And after nightfall, it is the sirens that sound across the still air. And even through the spattering rain.

It is a day, when one would not like to go out, but to stay indoors, perhaps with a game of scrabble, or a book, and of course coffee. And nothing much would really matter.
