GRASS ICICLES

along a tiny waterfall Mischa and I found. First we had seen icicles from branches down to earth and here was suddenly a wonderland of all kinds of ice formations. The icicles not going down here but from bottom up. There was a little twig thick with ice hanging above the water coming down, dancing in the wind. We paused there to take photos and we marvellled till our hands were frozen too.
Out of the little holes in the earth the mice came out and rustled between the grass.
The sun shone but softly and the wind blew in our face, but luckily on our way back we were kept warm by the sunshine.
And this is only the beginning of a very cold period to come.

My haiku:

All little ice queens
Stood frozen surprised
The tumbling water

And the french proverb:

A fine quotation is a diamond on the finger of a woman/man of wit, and a pebble in the hand of a fool.
