Pitcher Plant

Very cold, overcast and a bit misty here today, but no snow; it is lunchtime and still only two degrees centigrade.

I decided on an indoor blip today, and this is one of the pitchers on my husband's Pitcher plant. If you look closely you can see the liquid, part way up the pitcher, this is known as a pitfall trap. The plant is watered normally and then takes up liquid, if you look in large you can see little drops of the liquid on the tendrils, which is how the pitchers are attached to the main plant. Insects then go into the pitcher and cannot get out; it is a carnivorous plant.

What shall I do this afternoon?
