What the Dickens

This morning we went to visit Charles Dicken Birthplace. As it is the 200th anniversary of his birth on Tuesday it was having an open day to the public today. There is a lot planned for Tuesday but we will not be going so thought it was something new to try. On the way in Wife mentioned that it would have been nicer had he been born in the summer really. The cold member of staff standing in the doorway shivering was quick to agree.

It is strange going round something that is essentially just a house, especially when it is as busy as it was this morning. I can't say the little ones really enjoyed it but it was still worth a visit. Girl liked the postcards she got from the gift shop though. After attempting and failing to go to a reading over the road the little ones enjoyed a charge up and down the street which had been closed to traffic for the celebrations. In fact this was the best bit of the visit as far as they were concerned.

I was not over the moon with any of the individual shots I took today and so decided on a crude quick attempt of combining a few of them. I quite like the effect even if it is not a clean one. I could spend hours blending all the cuts but to be honest life is too short and busy enough already.

This afternoon some friends came round for a good play. It was nice to have all the little ones charge aboout having fun and made a nice change to just us sitting around trying to avoid going in the cold room. I was also pleased as it meant I could finally get the box of lego out that I bought recently.
