Tieyeux

E's Mum is visiting currently. She's an creative patchwork quilt maker. Her current project is creating cushion covers from old shirts and ties. The shirts provide the underlying material (retaining the shirt buttons on the back for the necessary opening!). The decoration is created from old ties, opened up and patched together. There's a remarkable amount of material in a tie.

I rather like this one, which included a tie with a Bayeux Tapestry pattern.

The covers, and commissions, are being sold in aid of the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.
