Vagrants' Cells

I am in the workhouse! In Sheffield examining comms skills for the MRCS on behalf of the Royal College of Surgeons. Helping to improve surgeons of the future in this vital skill can't be bad.

This building was the workhouse and up to modern times patients came here in fear. Today it is the Northern General Hospital, These cells were for vagrants. Eight feet by four and a half with a hinged bed. This picture, of course, is from an exhibition. Today's facilities are on the whole very modern.
