Life, not as we see it.

Yet another tropical pool.

Sorry to do this guys, honest. This is our pool at Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand, where we arrived @ 17:00 today, after a multi-mode transport experience - Minibus, Ferry, passport control / interrogation, another minibus, a pullman bus and finally, a nerve jangling run in torrential rain in an unofficial taxi which was desperately needing wheel bearings, tyres, and CV joints in the drive shafts. Oh, plus a driving licence for the guy dooing the steering and occasional braking.

Ao Nang is very different from Langkawi in that it caters for the mass market tourist, particularly the Baltic States "Tatoos-R-Us" brigade. Wonderful mix of culture(s), or lack thereof. Whether or not we can survive for 6 days in this challenging environment remains to be seen.

Our hotel is brilliant, on the main drag so handy for everything, but with the pool, and our poolside room, sheltered from the mêlée by the main building.

Beach looks good, but better promised on some of the small islands which are served by small ferries.

Ever onwards :-
