Beauty is all around us.

A view of the Railway Station from the bridge.

It is a cold, wet and windy morning.
Never mind! Ever the opptimist I am thankful for small mercies.
The weather is generally milder today which is nice.
A group of us are growing plants and Spring bulbs in planters on the station platforms to make the staion beautiful and encourage more people to use the station. Next Wednesday we will hopefully set up some raised growing beds to experiment with growing some resillient vegetables, such as onions, beetroots and potatoes. We already grow a selection of herbs, free for passengers to try. Parsley. sage. coriander and lemon balm.
Inspired by the incredible work of Rob Hopkins and the Transition Towns, together with Incredible Edible food growing in Todmorden , Lancashire, we are excited and optimistic but not unaware of all the hard work needed
for growing, looking after and sharing these organic locally grown vegetables.
The station looks lovely at present with all the Spring bulbs in the platform planters.
