Cookie the shetland pony

Cookie is becoming a regular sight in the village as Jenny ( friend) and her family walk him round. He is so cute and when he has one of the children on his back he reminds me of the Thelwell images from my childhood.

It was Jenny's birthday today but we are delaying her celebratory afternoon tea until after lambing which starts in a week's time. An exhausting time for farmers and their families. Soon the start of lambs baa baa ing in the fields will be the usual sound to wake to and what a lovely sound it is too.
