House for an Art Lover

1. Happy birthday wee Lorna.

2. This year, mum has organised a huge big family lunch for her birthday. We are closest, yet still run a little late - faffing with the most gorgeous pale pink macaroons.

3. There are 18 of us in all. Two Colins', two Carolines and two Kates. The food stuns, the service is impeccable and the company, fine.

4. One Colin meets another after thirty or so years.

5. At home, we play the chain for hours and hours drinking cava with a nod to endings and new beginnings.
