The Love Child Chronicles

Heaven Sent?

The defining feature of my town is a huge rock. It was deposited here some 15,000 years ago by the Wisconsonian Glacier during the last Ice Age. It is what is called an "erratic".

The local Native Americans used it as a trail marker, and for many years, it was the primary landmark for surveying properties in the vicinity. From what I've read about it, it probably came from near Peekskill, New York, U.S.A., and settled in its current location when the glacier melted.

Recently, National Geographic magazine featured our rock in its March 2012 issue. You see this erratic at: The Rock

Our rock has suddenly become famous. I hope it doesn't start to cop an attitude.
