A time for everything

"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable."
-Joseph Addison

The dry sunny weather continues, but the heat and humidity are beginning to build, as I discovered when I went out for my walk late morning. I went to Glenwood Gardens - some parts were looking rather dry - we could really do with some rain - but there were a lot of yellow and purple wildflowers making some nice splashes of color.

Spoke to Laura on the phone this evening - she's finding band camp tiring - they start at 9 am and go on till 8 or 8.30 pm and she has to learn a different style of marching and get used to marching with her flute again as opposed to piccolo which she's played the last two seasons in high school. But I think things are going OK on the whole. She's looking forward to meeting her room-mate on Thursday.

Roger went biking with the Cincinnati Cycling club this evening - about 30 miles or so - on the roads, with some pretty big hills, so he came back pretty tired.
