horns of wilmington's cow

Just over 6 weeks to go...

A land filled with noise
Colour
Smell

Many stories heard
But soon
My own
To tell

Feels like so long since we had a proper holiday, rather than just long weekends dotted here and there. On a(nother) wet day like this it's hard not to look forward to escaping it all and heading somewhere that's been on the 'list' for such a long time.

We're going to be travelling about the north of India for a little over two weeks, taking a train to a different part every other day or so. Starts off in Kolkata (Calcutta), and ends in Delhi. I love travel and travelling, and I'm looking forward to this trip even more after having Russell to dinner last night (he has a show in the Festival Fringe at the moment about cycling in India).

In the meantime the rain keeps coming down, the work keeps trundling by, and the lack of miles in the legs, save for commuting to work, before the Bealach Mor in 2 and a half weeks is consigning me to finishing even further behind my 'baby' brother.

Going out to the Sheep Heid pub quiz with Mel's Canadian relatives tonight won't help, but I should get on the bike on Sunday to watch Adam in a time trial up in Fife (and naturally I'll be finding a decent spot for some photos, although if the weather keeps up that spot will be a bus shelter...).
