El Camino

A lesson in gastronomy

Been really indulgent - enjoyed a 3 hour lunch with a friend! But it was all in the name of supporting education and culture :-)

We went to the Andalusian Hospitality School in the mountain village of Benahavis - 'Fundacion Escuela Hispano Arabe de la dieta Mediterranea'

For just 25 euro they offer a 7 course menu of classic Andalusian dishes with a modern twist.

The chefs and waiting staff are all students but everything was superb, and the dining room, beautiful presented, offers stunning views of the rugged forested limestone outcrops that dominate the village, enhancing the experience.

This is the first course - two Andalusian cold soups; a classic garlic and almond recipe from Malaga Province and a Salmorejo from Cordoba Province.

Beats going to the local tech college for a free haircut!
