Strawhouse

Outside!

Despite a very murky foggy start we decided to wrap up and go to Stowe Gardens. The idea of a day stuck in the house was very unappealing!
I'm not someone who deals overly at all well with change. I hate change! So our visit didn't get off to a good start when we had to go into a new entrance, into a new car park on a completely different side of the Gardens.
Despite the new visitor centre being very lovely I was feeling irrationally annoyed at change and ended up having a ridiculous row with one of the fussy old dears women on the ticket desk.
Long story short, she was worried about Miss L falling down the stairs and I wasn't. She was worried that I wasn't worried. In the end she practically rugby tackled me out of the way to get to Miss L to help her down the stairs. Aaaaghhhhh!
(Sorry Mrs C to have made a scene!!!!!)
But after a ropey start we had a lovely day. The children enjoyed the tractor ride down to the Gardens, we had a lovely picnic with hot chocolate, the sun came out, we saw a man catch a huge pike - the first fish he'd caught in seven years!
And it was so so so so good to be out in the fresh air and feel that Spring is properly on its way.
