On My Doorstep

On the Way Out!

Some years ago my wife decided to collect model cars as an investment for the future. We've just found the box of stored, boxed cars and gone through it.

Unfortunately, because the cars she bought were cheap we discover that they haven't really retained any value. So the first lesson is: if you are going to invest for the future you should buy expensive items and save them. Cheap items that are readily available don't increase in value.

All except the one pictured here which is on its way to ebay and beyond.

My wife points out that she only bought it because it was reduced but, nevertheless, it is still a collector's item.

It is described as a Mercedes Grand Prix 1936 from the Schuco Studio series. It comes with tools so it is ideal as an educational child's toy.

Who wouldn't want it?!
