Sunshine over Dunblane

Spent the day gardening so my blip pic was taken of the late afternoon sun catching some fields near Dunblane, a small cathedral town north of Stirling.

This popular commuter town for Glasgow and Edinburgh found itself the subject of world wide media attention in 1996 when Thomas Hamilton walked into Dunblane Primary school and shot 16 children and 1 teacher before turning the gun on himself.

The community eventually healed itself and moved on but one curious side effect, told me by an estate agent, is that the demand for houses increased after this especially from people south of the border .

Thanks to the media they had "discovered" Dunblane which offers all the advantages of living in an idyllic rural setting, along with good schools etc yet easily commutable for Glasgow and Edinburgh and so they started to relocate here.
