Being Sensitive

Does being too sensitive about the way others see us stifle creative output. Do we need to be bold and brave to be creative. Does it honestly take guys to follow your heart. Do we have to constantly justify our creations and actions and thought processes to others? Or is it more of a struggle to justify this to ourselves?
