Sinfónica

A rare cultural treat for us Zihuatanejo residents this evening, the Sinfónica de la Secretería de Marina (the Marine Symphony) came to play next to the basketball court next to the bay (notice the boats behind the French Horn player). One hundred members strong, these are some amazing musicians and singers. In true Mexico fashion the performance was a little late getting started, but was well worth the wait. Show tunes, opera, traditional Mexican, and classical were all expertly performed during the almost two-hour show. The crowd was huge, mostly made-up of locals, and very appreciative of this opportunity to hear such wonderful music under the stars on an absolutely perfect evening.
