and 'Rear of the Year' is . . .

. . . this stunning rear was being mooned from the top branches of a hawthorn tree.

What I really needed were elevator heels that could raise me 15 feet into the canopy.

I took 32 images of a pair of these who remained obstinately in the branches above me. Not the most flattering of views, but the best I can offer you I'm afraid.

To save you wasting time trying to ID this bird, it is a male bullfinch, Pyrrhula pyrrhula.
