A Pair of PONSSEs

I noticed a PONSSE lurking in the woods as I drove in and out of the Crow's Nest Household Waste and Recycling Centre on the edge of Banchory this afternoon.

In fact there was a second PONSSE there, lurking deeper in the woods - as I discovered when, having left the site, I parked outside the gate and walked back in with my camera to carry out a more detailed investigation. But it was the first one that came out best on camera.

Please everyone, there is no need to worry about any of this: a PONSSE is a Logger's Best Friend and so has every right to hang around amongst the trees in the manner just described.
