dinner ballad...

...being sung by the local goose choir member

there was a lot of honking going on at the lake... along with a lot of chasing - by the geese...

it didn't help matters that a lady was hanging out teasing them... she'd come down and sprinkle bread crumbs - but just a handful... enough for the ducks and geese to flock over thinking they were going to get fed quite a bit... and then she'd depart... along about half an hour later - she'd show back up - go to a different part of the lake - do it again... the ducks and geese would get all excited - flock over... and there'd barely be anything for them to eat - i was getting quite annoyed... because then they'd be left honking and quacking and fussing amongst themselves - almost to a level of rioting... i wasn't understanding this individuals motives at all. she was very careful to remain far away from me - at the opposite side of the lake so that i would need to walk a far distance to get to her to talk... by the time i got around to the other side, she was gone again... left with frazzled feathered friends... sometimes - it's difficult to know what people are thinking - or know why they do what they do... if i see her again, i will try and get her story to understand - to explain the impact it has on the birds...

the last couple of days - have brought forth wonderfully warm temps - a dizzying tease for us... my tootsies have been pleased to be out of the confines of shoes - into flipflops - true rejoicing... even though reality will surely strike again with colder temps - for the moment - it's made for...

a

happy day.....
