Knees up, Mother Brown

Another superb and full-on day. Not quite the 21 degrees we had yesterday, more like 12 - with showers. However, we still managed to get out and about on foot and walked (what felt like) the east and north of Paris.

First it was a trip to Père Lachaise Cemetery, the final resting place of many great people including Oscar Wilde and Frederic Chopin. We were there to visit Jim Morrison's grave. Although R wasn't overly excited at the prospect of visiting a grave both he and I were so taken aback at what an extraordinary cemetery it was. Definitely one to see when in Paris.

From there we headed to Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur. There was an explosion of tourists everywhere and touts every two steps, looking to sell some tat or try scam you somehow - I can only imagine the full horror of being here in the summer! A quick 'tick' and we were off down the Pigalle as the heavens started to open. It would have been rude not to have taken a picture of the Moulin Rouge - so here it is.

Now back in our stomping ground of the Marais, feels like we've come home!

Vin, garçon!
