1st play with a dslr camera

After a morning searching for a missing teen ( training exercise ) the afternoon was spent at the Mother in laws for Sunday lunch (beef and it was good) I took the camera along took a few photos of the niece and nephews and then the blue tits in the garden caught my attention one thing I can confirm is the Nikon d40 has too many settings and after playing for a while I ended up taking some pictures in raw format don't know what it means but they were a bugger to open on the pc, any way it was good relaxing afternoon and ended up with over 300 photos and a flat battery
