Life, not as we see it.

These are just the ladies to sort you out!

Today turned out to be a repeat of yesterday, until we left the comparative safety of the hotel complex.
Went to catch the bus into Phan Thiet, the local proper town, 7 km away. Just missed it. Taxi stopped by us and when I asked for a price the driver pointed to the meter. I asked for an approximate price and he punched up 140k ($7) on his mobile. Off we went, and when he reconed it was time for us to depart, he stopped at the roadside, with the meter showing 98K, so I paid 100K. He was not amused and demanded 140K, but I reminded him of the meter and we got out. Here endeth that lesson!
We ate at a small roadside "restaurant" for the first time in several days. Fish / Fish cakes, Rice, Cabbage & omelete for two @ 50K ($2.5) Fingers crossed for the digestive track as we are on the move tomorrow.
Walked into the heart of Phan Thiet, the river /harbour area where we had seen many colourful fishing boats when we passed through a couple of days ago. Took some shots of the boats at anchor and of some heading down river and out to sea for the night's harvest, then on down to the fish market where we encountered the ladies above.
Also exchanged views with some gutters and some tallymen, albeit briefly, and in our separate languages.
Returned to base via public bus, at rush hour - a delight, and adjourned to the "Beachside" or "Moon" bar, where we partook of numbment and nourishment.
Paid the bill and arranged a packed breakfast for tomorrow. Bus departs the road end at 07:00, so up bright and early for another bumnumbing ride to the interior of this lovely country. Da Lat is the destination. It's got a golf course, so who knows what might be achieved?????
