Pink-footed Geese

A local walk under pretty grey skies. I walked past the farm at Seatter..sending out friendly signals to the two big dogs that jumped out..then down to the cliffs overlooking Inganess Bay and around the Head of Holland to the Bay of Meil, around the Head if Work and back to Kirkwall.

Lots of birds... up to six short-eared owls, one hen harrier, ten black guillemots, eight velvet scoters, eight Slavonian grebes, one great northern diver, greylag and these pink-footed geese etc.

One bird threw me a bit...too big for Slavonian grebe, too wee for great-crested...maybe a red-throated grebe!
