The Way of Colour

On display

From the Scotland's Early History gallery in The National Museum of Scotland I have a blip of some of the intriguing display cases which hold Pictish, Celtic, and Viking artifacts. In the immediate foreground there is a Viking brooch from Fair Isle. I can't say I like the statue display cases, but I am always drawn to them. The artifacts within are displayed on the body parts where they would have been worn, and the artifacts themselves are some of my favourite pieces in the museum.
Back home by train this evening.
One misty day, followed by two glorious days ... and if we had had a donkey with us it would have no hind legs left for sure :-)
