Muddy Adventures!

Young & Old

I went to see my friend Judy, she has a small yard with six of her own horses & ponies. She doesn't ride, being a lady of mature years, but breeds I one foal a year. She bred Majik the pony we bought who tragically broke her leg last summer.

This is Jenny her chestnut mare who is 30+ and is recovering slowly from a horrid injury. Somehow, unknown to anyone, she sliced a chunk of flesh the size of a tea-plate from the top of her front leg in her stable when playing with her stablemate. She's been on box rest for a month, vet has been out 5 times. But this was her first day back outside. Her leg is now slathered in Manuka honey to aid healing.
She seemed very pleased to see yearling 'May' and they spent a long time on mutual grooming. May came away with a ginger furry moustache and I feared she may start coughing up fur-balls!
