Silver Arcade

Silver Arcade is or rather was an Art Deco shopping precinct in Leicester city centre.
It was once full on all 4 levels of individual specialist shops where you could buy all things beautiful and unusual. Lovely retro clothes shops, fusty book shops where you could browse to your hearts content and sit and read the book before you bought it ...or not.
Alas the city council put the rents up so much over the years that the shop owners could no longer make a living and one by one they closed down. all`s that is there is a tatty nail bar and a nasty clothes shop selling cheap second hand stuff.
Hopefully somebody will buy it and return it to it`s former gorgeous glory before it crumbles.
Just noticed the cap some wag has left on the light.

Oh, by the way Leicester won a Silver Gilt medal for Midlands City in Bloom...2 points short of a gold...see y/days blip
