A bit of a grey day, I made a quick foray along the Water and found this goldfinch singing is the scrub.

All along the lower reaches of the Water of Leith, habitat is being destroyed. It's not just the flood prevention work, which has caused the felling of many beautiful mature trees, but in other areas, too; a lot of bushes and understory in the wooded areas are being ripped out.
Soon the only birds to see will be mallards and pigeons. It's quite depressing.

Later in the evening, I went to Stewart Bremner's exhibition opening. Excellent works, as are the other artist's, do visit if you're around the Broughton Street area.
Afterwards I met Meles off yet another train and we went back down to Broughton Street to meet Stewart and Etherghost in the pub :)
