Speckled hen

I bought some new chickens today and this is the young businessman who sold them. He has his own flock at the farm where he lives. He doesn't give them names and he was not at all sentimental about parting with this one, 3 brown hens, a white cockerel and two bantams. The cash in his pocket will I'm sure bring him more pleasure over Easter that the missing eggs in the nest boxes.

One egg had already arrived by the time we got the birds home.
