Today's Special

Heaven and Earth

We were out most of the day.

(1) A vet visit for Miss Annie, resulting an additional daily pill for her arthritis, a new ear-cleaning regimen, and a special shampoo, to be used weekly, for her flaking skin. Elderly dogs (she is now 15), like elderly people, require extra care!

(2) A very enjoyable Futurewise Whatcom lunch meeting downtown, with excellent speakers and the pleasure of being with other local residents who want to "promote healthy communities and cities while protecting working farms, working forests, and shorelines today and for future generations," as the Futurewise Whatcom website states.

(3) Errands for Phil and more volunteer work for me to help ready things for opening day tomorrow for Bellingham Farmers Market (on top of my early morning shopping expedition for the same purpose, which should have been #1 above, if I had kept to chronological order).

(4) A brief photo shoot at Lake Padden Park, not wanting to miss out on the wonderful white clouds and blue sky, which we hope will continue for the whole weekend! Of the photos I took, I particularly liked the juxtaposition of this very solid rock with the ribbon of water at the top and the reflected trees and clouds. "Heaven and Earth" came to mind when I saw the image, and seemed appropriate for Easter weekend.

We have another early start tomorrow, as we're helping with the opening day festivities, and of course will come home laden not only with many photos to review, but also the really local food we have been looking forward to for several months!
