computerized knee

Dr. P and Mr O'Shea were kind enough to come and give the orthopaedic club a demo on computerized total knee replacements. it was amazing.

you map out the structure of the knee using a tool and infrared camera so that the computer interface can calculate the angles, account for valgus & varus and assist on placement of cuts for more customized fit of the prosthesis end plates.

A better fit usually translates to fast recovery with less pain. its incredible what technology can do.
