a century of blips!

In 1871, the first legislation relating to bank holidays was passed when Liberal politician and banker Sir John Lubbock introduced the Bank Holidays Act 1871, the English people were so thankful that they called the first Bank Holidays St Lubbock's Days for a while.
well Bank Holidays....at least we have something to be grateful to the banks for! Todays Easter Monday keeps with tradition....cold, wet and windy! Good job i was indoors all day. wanted to go a walk to Watnall wood, to see if the bluebells had peaked out yet, following the recent warm spell. it used to be our family tradition to get up early on a Bank Holiday, and take the dog out for a walk Watnall woods, and back to a full english. spent most of the day at no.49, and made good progress. back home to take some pics of the lovely longiflorum lillies my mum bought me for Easter. not at work all week so looking forward to not setting the alarm this week!
