Heading Home

Last morning, one last play. Katie was excited that she was going on the train again, excited that she was going to see Grandad. But it hadnt dawned on her that Lyra, Ellie and family werent coming too. They had a lovely play in the garden, being so kind to each other, sharing nicely, pushing each other on the swing and just being adorable. When it came to saying goodbye, they had so many cuddles and kisses. They were so wonderful to see together this time, they didnt have to be in each others pockets, fussing each other etc, they just liked knowing the others were there. And are all sad when they're not together. It was especially nice seeing how Ellie has grown up since Christmas. Katie loved playing with her, because Katie loves anyone she can make laugh and Ellie loved being made to laugh, so it was a more 3-way friendship this visit, where last time it was mainly Lyra and Katie together.

The photo is Katie in a full outfit of Lyra and Ellie's clothes. We'd packed our case and she needed changing, so she raided theirs. And has permanently claimed the purple tutu now!

We had a good journey home. It was busy into London, but Katie sat on my back in the carrier so happily, grinning over my shoulder at a little boy on his mum's front in his "owl carrier" (also a meitai, but katie refers to them by fabric pattern!). On the big train from london, Katie ate a lot before curling up for a sleep.

We got back and got straight, got tea on, just in time for Granny and Grandad to arrive. It was my birthday, so they brought my presents as well as Easter gifts, so Katie was rather pleased. Not long after they left, I'd tucked her up, expecting a friend to pop by for a cuppa. In fact, she turned up with a surprise party. Which Katie decided she was going to join. An hour later though, she said "my go lie down in bed" and curled up in my bed, fast asleep in seconds.
