Back off!

Went to Lamington National Park, high up in the Green Mountains today to see what the subtropical rainforest looks like. It is an awesome place, with huge buttressed trees and a dense canopy. The song of the whip birds and the dangling vines and strangler figs add to the tropical effect.
At the impressive Morans Falls we went in search of the elusive blue crayfish - and found it right at the top of the falls in a shallow rocky stream. This one was particularly aggressive and stood his ground well - long enough to enable me to change to my long lens and take this shot. Thanks to my brother John for a great (birth)day out!
