world in a grain of sand

feeding time at the pond

A friend is looking after her friend's livestock (parrots, guinea pigs, fish and chickens), and invited me to acccompany her and admire. The chickens are beautiful, a range of black, white, grey and sandy colours, and they blended in an ever changing grouping as we fed them. The garden which they're kept in was lovely- most ordered but without being stiff or formal. I am inspired to tidy up my own!
The fish are also a blend of toning colours - and I've no doubt deliberately chosen to be so!
The rest of the day seems to have passed rather quickly - the excitement of a trip to the new dump, perhaps? Well, it's not a new dump as such, but the one we used to use has been closed - local rumour says to please a friend of someone in high places who lived near by - who knows? We congratulated ourselves on our tidiness with lunch in a lovely cafe overlooking Witney's church green, a browse around the shops - including a "vintage" shop which contained a scarily high number of objects we still own from the first time around!
