Seagul Swarm

Our new office building happens to be near the unofficial Seagull Parking Area. We don't hear much traffic, and even the freight train line that runs right next to the building isn't terribly audible (at least not from my part of the building), but seagull cries are a constant.

Some times more often than others. Every so often something disrupts the seagulls. A gigantic ball of seagulls will erupt into the sky, and the next 20-30 minutes have seagulls swarming their previous parking spots, not entirely comfortable yet to re-land, but not wanting to stray far. I was a little late to this party, but it was the first time I'd been remotely in a position to try to capture it on digital film. This section is about 20-35% of the area they usually spend the day inhabiting. Watching this scene is akin to watching a snowglobe, but it didn't settle down nearly as quickly as a snowglobe does. Oh, and you definitely do not want to be standing under this snowstorm, unless you're carrying an umbrella you don't care for.
