Change in the Weather

Its been a day of contrasting weather with the first half bright, cool and sunny and the second half cold, wet and windy. Fortunately the weather stayed great for some of the local Abbeyfield Home residents who we took took out for lunch to Bellochantuy on the west coast of Kintyre.

The restaurant is right on the beach and has an amazing view towards, Islay, Jura and Ghia. The sunsets are apparently out of this world, so I must take Mrs B there some evening for her dinner in the hope of catching one.

The forecast was for a front coming in over the Atlantic, and as we sat having lunch we could see the clouds gathering and the most distant parts of Islay starting to disappear. For some reason I was attracted to the empty chairs and table outside, possibly because I was thinking of all the people who had sat there watching the sun go down over the islands. Anyway, the blip didn't look too exciting with the clouds rolling in so I played around with it a bit on the laptop. I thought the mono reflected the change from the bright sunny weather we have had. The Paps of Jura can be seen in the background.

As we left for home the wind was getting up and by six o'clock it was raining and quite stormy. At least we had enjoyed the best part of the day!
