Back to normal...(ish)

What transpired.....on an ordinary day, what happens on any given day really? A few smiles, some serious things, sadness and joy.

Back to work and into the normal stream of things, the flow of life, leaf or rock in the river of life. Back to thinking things aloud and keeping things quiet, seeing everything and knowing nothing, confusion and clarity.

I was entrusted with the pain of others today, the worst kind, death and desertion...loss on both scales. What am I supposed to do with that....how can you be a part of this and yet remain distant....the answer is ......I don't.

Pain is pain, we all know it's visage, we all are familiar with it's touch....embrace it, feel it and let people know that you empathise. Not an easy line to walk.

I was given joy today.....a new job, some light at the end of the tunnel, a warm embrace for a listening ear and the pleasure of kindred spirit.

Back to work....another day.....for some good.....for a few..awful.....for me, well, it's just good to be alive!
