Lyngen, Day 1

Yesterday drove approx. 700kms to northern Norway to do some skiing as weather forecasts had promised quite a nice week for ski touring at the mountains. Our first destination was Lyngen commune and Lakselvdalen to be more exact. When arrived to the place the snow conditions were pretty ok and also the hut we had not been before was nice.

As the weather did not fully open and it was still snowing the first skiing day we planned easier route with 11oom vertical climbing on top of one couloir we had been checking for some years. During our trailbraking weather changed few times and at the top we waited for some time to get suitable window to ski down.

At the couloir the visibility was not perfect and so was the snow. However after the couloir opened up to the bowl the snow was perfect heavy powder all the way to the treeline and also at the trees we got some nice spring turns. Here Mr.H is skiing at the bowl in bit challenging lightning conditions ;)

Good first day!
