Summer - for some

Two airport blips in two days. Sorry about that. I've run out of ideas and energy now so although I am now in New York and so could go on taking photos for another 7 hours without falling foul of blip's rules, I'm going to go with one I took first thing this morning in Brussels airport on my way out.

The shiny shapes and reflections attracted me. And if sunglasses down shout "summer!" I'm not sure what does.

It's been a long, long day. Although you can fly direct from Brussels to New York, it's on the "wrong" airline (or rather than wrong "alliance", apparently) so I had to go to Frankfurt, and then JFK, and stand in a queue for 75 minutes waiting to get through immigration. That has certainly tested my old knees out but they seem ok. Checking in at the hotel was a hassle. Yet again the "travel agency" (I use quotes because it doesn't actually do any travel agency work as far as I can see) have messed up. I won't go in to the details, but it's the last thing you want at the end of a long day.

Except it isn't the end. I have to go and make my way to Columbia University and watch some of my colleagues do their stuff. I want to go to sleep, but that wouldn't be a good idea.

Yesterday went well. Can't really say anything, but it felt like my academic work was worthwhile.
