In memory

The Auckland Museum/Auckland War Memorial Museum (which appear to be just two different names for the same thing) projected a little 12-minute film of archival footage of the 24th Infantry Battalion on loop this evening and yesterday evening, as part of the ANZAC Day commemorations in memory of the 522 men who died between 1940 and 1945, so far from home.

The museum was lit up in poppy red, which was really quite impressive to see. I'm not sure if it'll be lit every night until ANZAC Day (this coming Wednesday) or if it's just yesterday and today. You can also see the Auckland Cenotaph on the left, lit in white.
