This is my Nanny. She is 89 years old and still has blond hair worn in a victory roll!! She still makes her own bread, and rolls, cakes and pies from scratch by hand every week.

Today at my grandad's funeral, her husband of nearly 70 years, her blue eyes were often moist with emotion but they were also often twinkly with mirth for the many memories shared were full of warmth, love and humour.

Watching her dedicated love as carer for my grandad over the past years, even when she has often been so worn out herself has been truly inspirational and today I told her how much I admire and love her. A humble lady, she brushed my compliments off with a smile.
